Workshop for 24

Last week was a little crazy for me as I had to get ready for a workshop of 24 ladies from a large corporation on Saturday. All of them were beginners so I prepacked my little organza bags with enough findings and beads for a simple 3 strand necklace and bracelet set. Knowing how we ladies love to customize our jewelry, I gave the ladies free reign on bead placement plus a choice of color/bead scheme: Elegant (Swarovski pearls), Stylish (Swarvoski crystals in complementary colors) and Casual (Swarovski crystals in monochromatic colors plus silver accent beads). They proved to be really creative and I certainly hope they had fun as much as I did! ;)

Jewelry Design with Beads

These are the pictures of my Level 1 class at Sophia.
As you can see it's a small group as 4 is the max number per class.

the 4th took the pictures. Thanks Joy!
With 4 to a class, I feel that everyone gets loads of attention thus maximizing their time at my class.

Click here to find out more on my class.

This is Tokuko is proudly showing off her new handmade crystal bracelet! All my students get to pick their own colors and beads to use with each project.

Email me at puremoon.designs@gmail.com if you have any questions or if you'd like a private class. I also do one-off sessions if you're only interested in doing one particular piece of jewelry.

Eager Beaders

I love my new class of eager beaders at Sophia...
Especially the little Japanese ladies.
They're so polite and perpetually cheerful.
I love it when they call me "teacher" too!
Makes me want to chuckle every time I hear it and go, "Wha...? Who, ME???"
Anyways, I think everyone should carry a little Japanese lady in their pocket like, all the time.
Then maybe the world would be a better place.

Heheheheh

"Cikgu Murni"

Funny how things turn out.
I was at Mont Kiara a while back to pay my bi-weekly rental fees when I was told that since I paid late (a week later than usual), I'd be given a crappy spot.
I swallowed my pride and took their crappy spot anyways.
As I walked dejectedly back to the lifts, I spied an itty bitty poster for an arts and crafts center.
Hah! A "Center for Creative Learning" right under my nose all this time!
So I moseyed my way to Block B of Mont Kiara
and found the place really really nice (didn't expect it to be that nice honestly) and the Manager even nicer!

Joy (the even nicer Manager) was very helpful as we chit chatted about the classes on offer and I tentatively asked her if she ever taught about offering jewelry making classes.
Her eyes gleamed.
Yes, g l e a m e d.
"No, we don't," she replied.
"But we would love to," she ventured.
"Ahhhh..." said I.
"But I can teach it!" I proclaimed.
"Joy!" said Joy.
Hehehe no lah. The conversation didn't quite go that way but you get my drift =)
Many many meetings later, here I am, the new Beaded Jewelry instructor of
Sophia: Center for Creative Learning (More info on the Class will be up soon on this site and on Sophia's. Check back periodically)

Oh and by the way, the crappy spot in Mont Kiara didn't turn out to be crappy at all.
Way to go ABC Market Management team!
